Enjoy the journey and the ride

Located in the peaceful countryside of East Sussex, Who Hares Wins provides restoration, race preparation and engineering services to customers who want to get more from their motor - whether you're on two wheels or four - plan to race, rally or simply enjoy on the open road.

Experienced with all classic and vintage machines - from pre-war Bugattis, 60's E-Types, Alfas and Cobras to James, WWII BSAs and sought after veteran motorcycles and Aero engined machines.

RACE PREPARATION

For a more powerful performance

Whilst it's not just about beating the competition we look to improve your vehicle – making it lighter, faster or simply a smoother drive. We'll also be on hand for the eventualities that motorsport often presents.

RESTORATION

Preserving your vehicles heritage

Whether you need certain features restored or a complete rebuild from the ground up, our approach is to retain as much originality as possible and take your vehicle back to a better version of how it would have been in period.

ENGINEERING meets DESIGN

For the ultimate finishing touches

Scrapes and scars are part of your machines' life - to be celebrated - not hidden with new paint and perfection. Each project is treated with the same meticulous attention to detail and care. It is also the seemingly small things and design ingenuity that make the biggest differences.

THE WORKSHOP

The place of inspiration

A safe, secure and private location for your classic as a temporary home, between races or for longer term storage. See our latest arrivals for a tempting new toy or get in touch if you have something specific in mind - we regularly source and build custom made machines for customers.

I’m often accused of living in the past - but things are made to be used and used well, whether chromed and tarted up or preserved and maintained in barn-find fashion.

About Bo Hare

Aside from my love of historic motorsport I restore vintage and veteran 2-wheeled machinery and build custom bikes. The one that's attracted the most attention is my Aero-engined 'autocycle' board tracker. It's made from an original 1930 Peugeot and a modern scale engineering copy of a WWI aircraft radial engine. The sound is something else.  See what else I've been working on and the recently restored vintage bikes that are now ready for sale.

My background is in industrial design and automotive engineering for classic and vintage cars. I've worked on most types of pre-war to post-industrial 70's motors and been lucky to support clients at some of the best events in Europe - Spa 6 hours, Monaco Historique, Tour de Espana, Le Mans Classic, Dijon, Nurburgring, Silverstone Classic and Goodwood Revival, Festival and Members Meetings.

If it has a collection of reciprocating parts and a soul, I’m instantly hooked on the craftsmanship and the why.

What makes a mechanic tick?
